Nantwich This Saturday - New Signing Announced

E-mail Print PDF

CHASETOWN will try their hardest for their first Evo-Stik Premier League points of 2012 as they make the trip to Cheshire to face Nantwich Town on Saturday.

The Scholars have suffered demoralising defeats to Rushall Olympic, Whitby Town and FC United of Manchester and have not scored a League goal since December, but manager Chris Brindley will follow up some strong words in his recent match programme articles and will be working his charges as hard as possible.

The club have signed 21-year old attacker Danny Quinn on loan from Hednesford Town until the end of the 2011-12 season.  In his previous spell with the Pitmen from 2010 Danny scored 11 goals in eight games, and he has spent much of this season on loan to Coalville Town and Mickleover Sports.

Nantwich have also yet to take a League win in 2012, the Dabbers having taken a succession of draws before a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Bradford Park Avenue last weekend.  Michael Lennon should be the man to watch in attack, while Chasetown's attack should be led as always by Dean Perrow, Danny Smith and Gary Birch alongside newcomer Quinn.

Fans arriving early for the match can also take advantage of a special promotion from Carlsberg at the Weaver Stadium.  At 12.45pm Liverpool take on Manchester United in the 4th round of the FA Cup and the match will be screened live at the stadium with Carlsberg available at just £2 a pint.

Kick-off between the Dabbers and the Scholars will be at 3pm.

How to get there

Leave the M6 northbound at junction 16 and take the A500 towards Nantwich.  Go straight on at four roundabouts onto the A51 towards the town centre, over the level crossing and straight on at the next roundabout.  Turn left at the next roundabout after this (Morrison's supermarket on the right) then continue through the lights and the ground is ahead on the right.  The postcode is CW5 5BS.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're not going to Nantwich, Chasetown's reserve side are at home to Stratford Town in the Midland Combination Reserve Division, kicking off at 3pm at the Scholars Ground.
