Made it to the game this afteroon and thought it was a joy to watch at times.
The Hunger appears to of resurfaced and the players currently in posssession of the shirts seem to be loving every minute of it as well.
Charlie MUST to be a miracle worker, as you wouldn't believe this is the same squad of players, who so miserably lost to Mickleover but one week ago.
What a difference a week and change of personnel can make to a side. After earlier looking to the rest of the season with fearful pessimism, I now feel that the title charge is really on. Yes I know it is early days but the past 7 days have highlighted just how much quality Charlie has been able to amass in his squad. barring anymore injurys to key players I can't see why we can not be hunting down the top three by the end of October.
The balance of the team at the moment seems spot on, with the new look defence claiming back to back cleansheets for the first time this season, with no little help, in my opinion to the tireless work-rate of Dave Egan in midfield.
With him providing a protective shield so as to allow Batch and Steane the chance to do what that do best!!! Terrorising defences.
Now that we seem to be seeing the best of Birchy infront of goal hopefully Charlie and the players can get a run going to help us progress up the league.
Now all we need is Slates and Parso back and we will be there or there abouts.
Sholars for the championship!!!
