TOPIC: Can I Change My Mind?

Can I Change My Mind? 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Hey - Ho!

I've just spent an hour and a half composing a well balanced and considered contribution to the debate on the form and function of a Chasetown website. I checked the spelling and everything!

Unfortunately, the cabal removed the thread sometime during the commencement of the typing marathon and me hitting submit. I'm on holiday. I shouldn't be wasting my time doing this anyway, but especially if it's not going to see the light of day!

Anybody want to start an unofficial website?

Billy I actually agree.
I would have liked to have seen the reply's to the posts made on this subject because if that doesn't happen then the "Ours and theirs" debate will continue on other media without the ability to debate. And that can not be to the good of the club as a whole.
Let's get whatever is troubling people into the open.

Without wishing to reignite the whole subject, which is clearly distressing some people (although I don't actually know what has been going on outside of this forum), it is clear that something precipitated this turn of events. My "post that never was" attempted to explore the issues in a none confrontational manner.

The bottom line is that "ours IS theirs". Although I have been speculating somewhat as to why this has happened, I think there were some good intentions behind it, but I think improvements could easily be made to this site that would address some of the concerns.

I can't be bothered to rehash the whole thing again, but in esscence we should be problem solving TOGETHER

Finally, I want to be clear that my problem is mainly with the Pitchero platform (and what I think it represents), and the problem of having two sites, generally. I have no issue with the architect(s) and their content. In fact, I want to see more of it, but on the official Chasetown website.

I shall say no more. Carry on!

*Rummages in bag for well thumbed copy of "Henry Kissinger For Dummies"*

Lee, I feel like I am trying to talk a man down from the parapet of a dilapidated carpark.

Clearly, I don't know the half of what's been going on and there in may lie the problem. Perhaps there needs to be a bit more openness with the ordinary fans. I'm a "frequent flyer" and I know bugger all about anything. Only what I pick up second and third hand in the pub and at the ground. Still, I only moan about the lack of beer and pies. I don't really need to know about much more.

A grand, but ultimately pointless "falling on your sword" may make you feel better now, but not in the long run. Still, if you are determined to switch allegience, I hear that a club called Grantham are doing very well at the moment and everybody thinks they're really great!

I'm sure anyone who was in the Belper clubhouse yesterday after the match can tell you what happened. After all, it was shouted loudly enough by certain people

Sure this will be deleted, like the Unibond website topic was.

Ashamed to be a Chasetown fan and volunteer right now.

You know what? I've already said I was going to say no more on the subject, so I'll leave you all to it.

All I wanted to do was stimulate a discussion on how the club presents itself to the fans, the opposition fans and the wider community. The catalyst for that was the Pitchero site, which I wish I had never mentioned.

I don't think this has got anything to do with websites, or me.

I would like to wish the two moderators that have left the forum all the best for the future and to say thanks for the help and time that you have given to the website.
Can I also take this opportunity to remind everyone that if they have any ideas that would help with the running of the website; could they post and disucuss it in the suggestions forum. The reason for having this part of the forum is to make the website as informative and useful as possible.
Thanks
