TOPIC: Ben Steane

Ben Steane 2 Years ago
Looks like Ben Steane has played his last game for Chase judgding by his facebook status. Not seen it myself but have just been told about it.
If indeed he has left then i would just like to say that as far as i am concerned he will be a big loss for us and will be sadly missed.
All the best Ben for wherever you end up and thanks for all your service to Chase over the years.

If this turns out to be true, I would echo the words of Windy.

At times a different class son!

Re:Ben Steane 2 Years ago
Had a long chat with Ben before Saturday's game and asked him about all the talk of him leaving.
He said he loves the club and doesnt want to leave but feels he is being pushed out. The final straw was not even being in the 16 for the Sheffield game and an untried "kid" had got his place on the bench. To really rub salt in the wounds it wasnt even Charlie who told him he had been left out, instead he got a call from Andy Cox. He felt that after 4 years af service he deserved better treatment than that. And let's not forget he turned down the chance to join Leamington earlier in the season to shown some loyalty to Chase.
I told him that none of the fans that i know want him to go but at the end of the day if he is being treated like this and unlikely to figure in Charlie's plans for next season then who can blame him for looking elsewhere.
Wherever you end up Ben next year you are a top bloke and i for one want to wish you all the best.

It is definetly a big loss that Ben is going and wherever he goes he will be an asset to them, he gave his heart to Chase but at the end got nothing in return so not suprised when he told me that he was leaving, Have posted his Litchfield Article on here and it is well written and explains things I feel in a good way.

I think this has been building for a while and I was a little suprised when he turned down Leamington last season but as was said he loved Chasetown and wanted to stay with us but as it turned out he has been let down a little by some parts of the club and now is time for him to move and and to continue in his career.

All the best Ben xx
