NEXT SEASON ?????? 2 Years ago
When and who decide which league we will be in next season, personnaly I would prefer it if we were changed back to the Southern section of Zammaretto, which I think is where Hednesford and Leamington are. Any one know what is the method by where we are allocated to play, and can the club ' lobby' for a place ????

Not sure about your lobbying question but this it how I understand it.

The FA meets in June to discuss the structure (including clubs who dropped out etc) and make a decision then.

I was lead to believe (but could be wrong) that they don't like to move clubs back and forth every season so with Chasetown only just moved into the Northern I assume that the chances of being moved to the Southern are slim (albeit desirable!!).

Anyone else know more?

No they dont like to keep switching teams between leagues. They normally wont move a team for 3 years as in the case with Gloucester being placed in Conference Niorth last season even though they are much further south than Worcester who play in Conference South. They were switched from North to South the year before so the FA wouldnt move them again last year. Ridiculous i know.
Hednesford were moved to the Southern last year so similarly i wouldnt expect them changing again either. Which would mean the only spare place for Chase being in the Northern Premier League (Evo Stick).
Have a look at the Mike Avery site for the predicted line up for all the non leagues for next season. It has taken over from the Tony Kempster one and is usually about 99% accurate. Very good site indeed.

Looking at the map on www.mikeavery.co.uk/Steps%201-4%20in%202010-11.htm we would be the 23rd most Northern club if new Chester are at step 3 or a northern team get a reprieve, but with Hednesford only last summer being moved from North to South it's unlikely they'd move them straight back (and ditto us, unless both clubs wanted it maybe?).

If the spot occupied by Chester in that map was taken by a southern team we'd be 22nd most North and not have any room to get moved south (though maybe we'd get a local derby if they did put Hednesford back).

I'm basing this on the map above alone. I bet Joe Francis is looking forward to 500-1000 Mancs coming down and singing virtually non-stop through his afternoon nap.
