Hi all, obviously we've been backing you with the makeover voting so hope you win it.
Now we've got something for you - Yes it does involve money but a lifelong football fan/actor has brought together a super group so to say of Welsh musicians to record a single "I'll be there for charity in aid of the Fred Keenor statue at our new ground.
Some info on the song/Fred Keenor
"I'll Be There" which was sung by Welsh Miners during the General Strike of 1926. The song has now been recorded for the first time by The Stand to raise money for a statue at the ground for the legendary Cardiff City 1927 Cup Winning Captain and Somme Veteran FRED KEENOR- he was told that due to injuries sustained in battle that he would never play again.
Combining the attitude of The Sex Pistols and the folk punk of The Pogues, The Stand are made up of four well known musicians and actors all brought together by a great cause. Owen Powell was the guitarist and songwriter of Catatonia, one of the best-known bands of the 90's. Jonny was in the mod indie band The Pocket Devils but left to pursue a successful acting career that has seen him appear in some of television's best known shows and the film 'A Bit Of Tom Jones'. Joining them on bass is Guto Pryce from Super Furry Animals, one of the most influential and innovative bands of the last two decades & on drums Ryan Richards from million-selling band Funeral For A Friend.
If you would be very geneours and back the campaign as we look to build the statue in honour of a Cardiff City legend then that would be great.
