Chasetown vs Mansfield 1 Year, 2 Months ago

So, people's thoughts? I thought Mansfield looked pacy and strong going forward but fragile at the back. If we are to progress in the replay, I think we need to see more coming from midfield and more pace going at them.
MOTM was a tough one last night. Thought Slater was exceptional at the back, stopped alot of danger out esp first half. Peel as well ran himself into the ground.
Think I would have to give MOTM to Pricey though, so real class saves in there kept us in the game, and only beaten by 2 well struck shots from distance.

Mansfield's width posed problems and meant we lost shape in the middle of the park.
Either way, one thing's for sure - they're beatable.
Would like to see more noise from us a Field Mill though.

Aaaaah the age old problem of noise. We certainly aren't a vocal lot, even those who go every match are few and far between in who shout. I would love to see the Team Bath atmosphere again, that certainly was a special day away from home.
And yes.........they are beatable.

We were very vocal at Kettering.
Problem at home is we all stand in our normal spaces and we are spread out around the pitch.
If we get a segregated area like at Kettering, or as we developed for ourselves at Eastleigh, then vocal support will be more apparent.
I think last night's lack of volume was down to nerves on everyone's part. Had to laugh at the two people behind the goal with the drum, singing "your support is *beep*" as I think they were the only two lol.

Agree with Paul. the atmosphere at kettering was awesome when we were all forced to sit together. should be the same next week too.
As for last night there is no doubting the fact that Mansfield looked the much better team, as they should have been, but once again our superb team spirit and battling qualities got us though yet again.
Agree with Pricey being MOM, yet again this season, with a string of awesome saves, but Slates was phenomenal too especially 1st half and Davies had a great game in midfield too.

If they'd tried a song that was positive, funny or true all night the others would have joined in. There wasn't really any other 'starters' other than a verse of When the Chase.
