Love the quote "they have got nothing to play for"

hmmm...12 games to go - chance to get into play-offs to play at STEP 2 of the non-league system ....

Games against FC United of Manchester, FC Halifax Town in front of big crowds.

A St Georges Day trip to the Lake District...

Wish I was back to see us have nothing to play for.

jealous much! seems like a good option since ryan has gone to hucknall. boost our attacking options as deano seems to now be injury prone and gary hay has fallen out of the picture

The change of players between the 2 clubs is interesting. They seem to sign players from us who can't feature often in the 1st team (Harris, A.Smith). We seem to sign players from them who are important part of their team (Bones, Jevvo).

To be fair, if I had to play on a 30 degree gradient every home match when I could be playing for the most famous non league team in the world, I know where I would want to be.

Your interpretation is interesting. And flawed. Let put an alternative viewpoint.

To be fair, if I had seen a team capable of beating pro sides through the conference seemingly at will fail again in the league, and another season without trophies, cup defeats to Heath Hayes/Newcastle/Rushall depite massive financial support, a massively oversubscribed first team squad and then a reserve squad underneath it, then I'd be wondering just how good a job the manager does. Is it mercenary bunch of players ruling the roost above the little mans ego? How else would you say that down the road is capable of acheiving so much given the comparative paucity of resources. A happy club, no egos, getting on with the job, keeping quiet, enjoying the moment.

I know where I would want to be.

Peace y'all.

...and that alternative view will, of course, be UPHILL

Don't tell anybody I said so; congratulations Rushall.

Re: 1 Year ago
Firstly......congratulations Rushall on gaining promotion. Your run of results towards the end of the season was impressive.

Now, an alternative point of view. Despite being silent for 12 months, you come on our forum and start trolling. How about your forum admin start allowing supporters of Chasetown to post on their? Everytime one of us joins we are banned and our emails blocked, for making similar comments as your's.....if not less antagonistic.

I also suggest you look at your own season's success, despite still feeling the need to obsess with Chasetown FC? You can't even gain promotion to your highest ever position without feeling the need to trawl through posts 12 months old to try and get some glee.

I also suggest you refrain from making assumptions about the players and manager of our team. Charlie is a fantastic manager and his efforts this year deserve respect. Our budget was within the bottom 4 of our league, yet we were pushing for promotion until the mid stages of April.

And yes, we lost in minor cup competitions to yourselves, Newcastle and Heath Hayes........yet in the FA Trophy we defeated Grimbsy and Kettering, and pushed Manfield hard for a place in the semi.

So before you take the moral high ground on why players are in your team, I suggest you look at certain individuals, whol whilst injured were quite happy to collect a weekly wage from us, but when you put in a 7 day request they demanded to move faster than that. We have a great team ethic, and certain players who didn't gel soon moved on.

Good luck for next season, and if you really are that confident of your ability, may I suggest a £100 wager in aid of a charity of your choice as to who will finish higher next season. I will even give you a 6 point start.
