Afternoon all,

It's one of those 'morning after the night before' ish games for the Scholars today, facing Spalding United in the Unibond after our early exit from the FA Cup. This kind of game we might have wished for against a team lying 19th with 2 points from 4 games, but Charlie's boys cannot for a second anything for granted, and a convincing return to winning ways is what they and every fan is after.

Despite the suggestions of wholesale changes, Charlie's in fact chosen to keep with a similar side that faced the Wulfs along with a couple of enforced changes. Martin Taylor once again makes the much appreciated trip from Sheffield to keep his place in goal, while new signing Grant Ryan from Mansfield is on the bench. Ben Steane misses out through injury.

Two chances have already gone begging for Dave Egan in side the first 10 mins but there's a bit of deja vu as Craig Milligan puts the Scholars ahead for his second in two games. The ball breaks fortunitously to the full back on the edge of the box but he coolly slips the ball home with two others waiting.

Danny Smith once again, looping a header in from Danny Bragoli's cross. Spalding to have 5 on debut but this is already embarassing...

Can't answer that question either Lee, I expected 4 or 5 out from the squad through injury from what I'd heard. I knew about Steane from his Mercury column, not announcing Danny was my fault.
