Chasetown v Stamford 2 Years, 8 Months ago

Always find it fascinating when we play new teams - cos we really haven't got much of a clue how good they are from just their early season record.
The fact we are playing today shows we are both out of the FA Cup... so maybe they are a parallel to us.
Let's see if we can beat someone who isn't the current bottom 4 of the League, as that's been our only wins so far

Whats gone on?
No word of game anywhere?
No Details?
I have a good excuse for not going to the game as I am halfway around the World, but this is just cruel.
Have stopped up to 3am and still no word apart from Leecad's HT 0-0 message on Facebook.

I was debating whether to do a popdog synopsis of the match, decided it just isn't worth it after what we all saw yesterday. Kudos to all those who rushed home to see two teams really going for it in Spurs vs Utd, shame our 'contest' was so utterly uninspiring and boring on such a lovely afternoon, as old problems emerged once again as the midfield disappeared, and we didn't seem to learn that Birchy wasn't winning much ball in the air, despite automatically throwing it forward towards him again and again.
We will get absolutely no where in our league playing like that, nor would we deserve to, and quite frankly I couldn't care less about scoring 6 or 7 versus potential bottom of the league sides if at times our performance merited a team right down there in the mire. One or two players had decent games, Batch was excellent when he came on but a mixture of bizarre decisions from players, management and the officials didn't bode well.
Stamford deserved to win it for at least giving it a go, rather than just the last 10 mins.
Oh and we could've had two players sent off...

I missed the game as I was away, but kinda glad I did by the sounds of it.

Am away too and missed this game which sounded truly awful. Am seriously worried now about our ability to compete against a half decent side in this league. 3 wins against piss poor opposition doesnt bode well for the season to come.
Went to watch a game in the Spanish 3rd division this morning and saw an entertaining game at last this season!!!

I think I'm glad I missed this one
Mickleover (currently 18th in the table) up next. What's the betting we do a "Brighouse" and win it 8 bloody 1, only to be the "Barnstoneworth United" when we play 3rd place Kidsgrove

The way things seem to be panning out at the moment, not unlikely. But good things are supposed to come to those who wait, and Batch will be a huge plus for midfield creativity now he's back.

In beating the poorer sides easily, the team are only doing what they should be doing. It is the inability to win against stronger sides that is a worry. There is no doubt in my mind that the Leamington/Atherstone/Nuneaton of last season would be cruising this league. We are yet to see Leek and Belper, but we know Kidsgrove are strong from what we saw of them last season.
