Chasetown FC Latest News

I managed to get hold of a small (but useful) pile of programmes from ex-Scholar Tony Dixon and have managed to update some significant gaps in my pre-1999 Chasetown stats. I don't always have full team line-ups in each game but I do have complete end of season appearances for 1991-92 and 1992-93 season

So far, I have been able to update previous players stats to get nearer to finding out who has most appearances for the club etc...


One programme had Andy Cox registered as our all-time appearances as 427 - which, if this was at the end of a season takes him up to approx 490 games for Chasetown. Some of the gaps I have filled in have also taken Simon Hyden up to 490 So, the race is on (when I get some more programmes from the club) to find out the complete totals.


Tony Dixon has played 340+ games for his 197 goals
Jon Rose 320+ games
Dave Shelton 295+ games
Andy Withington 200+ games with 90+ clean sheets


The closest current Scholar to any of those figures is Chris Slater with 261 games
