Well I don't think he is a great loss, for his size and presence he never seemed to give us any thing different, I am a bit dissapointed in him realy I thought he would have been OK for us but he never stepped up to the palte and he has had his chance.

You know something, I have been watching this forum for a few weeks now and I have to say there are certain individuals on here that should be ashamed of themselves.

To say Chasetown is suppose to be a friendly and supportive club, that welcomes new players, infact all you have done is ridicule a player that came in, and has not really been given the chance to prove himself. And lets face it, Chasetown have not really been on top yet have they! And Greenway has not been in the team. So don't blame his performance.

You tell me, were he has had is chance? when he has been subjected to bench duties! by the manager And has the rest of the team STEPPED UP?! Can't see the team winning much, how on earth can you be disappointed in someone that has rarely played - unless you are seeing a mirage out there on the pitch!

If this is how you treat newcomers "God help you" and if I was a newcomer considering joining such a team, I would not bother. Certain supporters are enough to turn anyone away acting like spoilt children in a play ground!

How do you think his family may feel, seeing the comments you put on about this player? Well ask yourself, how would you feel it it was your son/nephew/grandson. You would be angry and hurt. So have some RESPECT and consideration please.

Your suppose to support newcomers not do what you are doing, putting players down and making them feel useless and un-welcome, and you wonder why your losing players, if this is how you act.

Good Luck for the 2009/10 season, because it looks like your going to need it.

I think you make some valid points, but, I don't think for one minute that this forum reflect the views of ALL Chasetown fans.

Unfortunately, many football fans make their minds up quickly - and some players win over fans immediately, and some don't. Doesn't make them bad players, and sometimes we see players come back to play against us (or return to Chasetown in a second spell) and improve considerably.

I remember a midfielder called Simon Gossage who (to me) didn't seem to add anything to the team in the first months of the season.

Towards the end of the season, he banged in 7 goals in 8 games from midfield and looked a completely different player - and quickly won over the fans.

I have not directed it all fans, there are loyal and welcoming fans, but some have been downright vindictive and nasty, but it's like the old saying goes " it's the minority that spoil it and make the majority look bad"

Such a shame!

I don't have an opinion on this one particularly, but you have to look at paying customers who some would say are entitled to have a view on a player's performances.

In all seriousness I have to say I think it unfair that in the 21st century you still can not voice an opinion.

Ok, I saw Lee Greenway play in all our games last season against Atherstone(especially the play-off semi) and also the fair few he had this year.

Opinions can't been seen as being vindicative, horrid or anything else they are just the thoughts of certain individuals. God help him if he made the Pro game as he would have 1000's with opinions to contend with, and would they be expressed with understanding??!!! Fat chance. Truth is as the earlier thread said you have to think of the paying customer, that being us regardless of the amount we want results.

Now you are right maybe Greenway wasn't given to many games but in fairness that's the same for quite a few players. Do you jump ship or fight for your place??????? We as Chasetown fans have seen players wait and fight for position even when not playing, Our own Chopper Harris, John Branch (at times) Craig Holland and even last year Ross Miler and Joe Williams who were both mightly unlucky not to play.

It comes down to the players in question, so to be honest to the lads who have left good luck and good riddance!!!!

Now we can concentrate on moving up the league with players who are at least happy to play for our beloved scholars.

Champions!!!!!

Yes, I agree there are opinions.

What I don't agree with is slating a player/players when they have near enough been constantly on bench duties!!!! through no fault of their own. So really cannot comment on performances, if their not played regulary. Instead of slating the ones that DON'T play, how about critisizing the ones that do, and from what I see at the moment are not doing that brilliant a job. Thats my point!

What ever happened to "giving people a chance" in this world.

But like said everyone intitled to opinions you have yours I have mine!!!!!

And if beloved Scholars want results, try showing some respect, that way you may keep the players you had, and MAYBE will be able to move up the tables.

Good luck

I think there is a bit of history behind a lot of the comments from "certain individuals" on here.

Firstly, I was suprised Greenway came to the club. Secondly, I am suprised that he wasn't the first to leave this season. You could tell he wasn't set on staying.

However, unless I've missed deleted posts I think the comments I've seen are critical, but not derogatory. I don't think I would personally be so blunt as one or two contributors, but I don't think anyone has overstepped the mark.

Whatever people thought of the player I hope he settles at his new club. At least he can wear his gloves most games without fear of ridicule!
